Bold Stores & Events CIC exists to support free, public-facing events and shared experiences within the local community.

Bold operates as a physical space where people can gather regularly and without pressure. Coffee is present throughout, but it is not the centre. It is the fuel, a practical reason to open the doors and a steady partner to the wider work that happens inside.

The CIC exists to ensure that this wider work can continue calmly, year on year.

How the Structure Works

Bold operates as two connected parts.

The coffee shop exists as a trading business. Alongside it sits Bold Stores & Events CIC, a Community Interest Company established to hold and direct surplus towards free, open events.

Any profits generated through the operation of Bold are used to support this work. Rather than being extracted, surplus is returned to the community in the form of gatherings, challenges, and shared experiences that are accessible without cost.

This structure allows the coffee shop to operate normally, while the CIC provides a clear and protected framework for events and community activity to repeat over time.

Pay It Forward

This approach is supported by a simple internal ecosystem.

Funds generated through coffee sales and the day-to-day operation of Bold are reinvested into the space and into events that are free to attend. Alongside this, we fundraise independently for Bold Stores & Events CIC in order to extend the work carefully and sustainably.

Fuelling the Bold

Fuelling the Bold provides the framework that holds this work together.

Established in 2023, it is not a programme or a campaign. It is a way of working that prioritises conversation, shared challenge, and experience.

Events emerge from this framework naturally. Some are physical, some reflective, some social. They happen, and bring people together.

Coffee remains present, but it isn't the focus. It became the catalyst, the fuel, rather than just another product.

Purpose

Bold Stores & Events CIC exists to directly improve the wellbeing of event participants by offering them challenges and experiences with extremely low barriers to entry, inclusive in nature and with access to a wider community. We're in it for the long run, for sustained wellbeing and long term benefits. We achieve this through our physical spaces and further events.
