Fueling The Bold

Doghouse coffee - honestly is the best quality coffee ever. Somehow my friends are popping round for a chat and coffee much more frequently since I’ve switched to it. Carringtons Coffee Co. are awesome - brilliant service and just very nice people to deal with.

Thank you for the best start to the day and increasing the number of visits to my house - especially as I haven’t been too well recently. Those visits really keep me going.

Gorgeous coffee, but care ordering the right type!

After tasting this coffee at the Pure Vegan cafe in Lancaster, and reading more about the company, I decided to start buying it. I have 2 Bialetti Moka pots that are only about 6 months old and followed the guidance on the Carringtons website to choose fine ground coffee. It was too fine for my Moka pots - it took longer to brew as I think the coffee compressed too much and the water/ steam had to work too hard to push its way through to the top chamber. The resulting coffee seemed more bitter than I had previously tasted. In addition the coffee was so fine that it worked its way down to the bottom chamber. I checked the Bialetti website and they advised medium-fine ground coffee, so, for the next delivery I ordered the medium ground. This is 100% better - none of the earlier issues and tastes delicious.
Perhaps some moka pots are OK with fine ground, but if you own a Bialetti, I would definitely recommend going with medium ground.
